Petrol In Diesel Tank, Is There A Drain Plug

Hi Guys,

I've ended up with a full tank of 75% diesel 25% petrol in my tdi due to the petrol station getting a delivery of petrol into their diesel tank. Is there a drain plug on the bottom of the tank or is it a siphon out job?

And before you ask... I did 40 miles before discovering the problem and the petrol station are going to sort it out.

do a search,this has happened to a few unluckey people on here before,iirc there are pictures and detailed info about the problem.

 

but then again,why bother yourself about it,especially if the petrol station and dealing with it??

would depend on how much petrol and diesel present - IIRC the diesel can put up with some contamination especially is you keep topping up with diesel - but as gregers says why worry if they are going to deal with it
